Rachel has been a storyteller her whole life. She began as an actor and, through many twists and turns, ended up in brand strategy. Now, whether honing internal positioning to rally a company around a shared vision, strategizing content for a new website, or writing compelling copy, her focus is on finding the most authentic, unique way to express a brand’s character.
Rachel spent the past 6 years managing large-scale brand strategy and design projects at Carbone Smolan Agency, and in 2010 became the one of two new partners in the firm’s 35-year history. She recently transitioned to independent consulting in order to focus on her two passions – working with entrepreneurs and start-ups, and improving the food system by teaching healthy home cooking. She also serves as chair of the communications committee for desigNYC, a non-profit that matches design and architecture firms with non-profits to facilitate quality pro-bono work.
Rachel graduated from New York University with a BFA in Theater, and currently resides in New York City with two cats and one boyfriend.
